Science at the Track
An important component of Building SPEED is bringing the science of motorsports to the public. In conjunction with the second parts of the Teacher Academies, participating teachers will bring hands-on demonstrations and explanations to race-goers prior to the race. Fans will have a chance to see what a 200 pound-per inch spring actually feels like, what a piston looks like after the heat of combustion gone awry has burned through it, and how SAFER barriers actually work.
