Q: Do you have a favorite team?
A: I have a lot of favorite teams! I met so many great people while researching the book and I cheer for all of their cars. The problem is that people in NASCAR tend to move around a lot, so on any given day, there are probably 20 teams I have friends on. We are fairly sure that the felines (Chaos and Vector) cheer for the No. 22 team. Darwin, our hound-dog mutt, has been an Elliott Sadler fan every since he found out that Elliott has dogs—lots of dogs—that look like they might be relatives.
Q:Where are you a professor ?
A: I've been in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for the last 14 years. In April 2008, I'll be joining my husband at the University of Texas at Dallas.
